2007 chevrolet colorado review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. That's 10 horsepower and 5 more pound-feet than 2006. The optional five-cylinder engine has been enlarged from 3. 5 to 3. 7 liters for 2007, for 242 horsepower and 242 pound-feet, up about 20 over the 2006 figures. other improvements for 2007 include a smoother-shifting automatic transmission, a more powerful 125-amp alternator, a standard tire-pressure monitor, and brighter interior trim. chevy colorado was designed for comfort and favors roominess, ride comfort and fuel efficiency over traditional truck virtues such as payload and towing capacity. That's a strong selling point because mid-size trucks are often bought as alternatives to cars, and their owners want more hip room, leg room and head room. Most are willing to sacrifice bed length for cab room. we think the trade-offs have paid off. The chevrolet colorado rides smoothly and feels refined. Order the five-cylinder engine and it accelerates smartly. The crew cab features a roomy back seat that's surprisingly comfortable and not bolt-upright. Yet the colorado fits into tight parking spaces, something that can't be said of full-size pickups. Like all the trucks in this category, the colorado is substantially smaller and more maneuverable than full-size pickups such as the dodge ram or chevy silverado. These are important benefits because even those who frequently use pickups to perform genuine truck duties spend most of their time driving with an empty bed. but don't get us wrong: the colorado isn't a car with a bed. In fact, the colorado provides all the trucking capacity most owners will ever use. It has a six-foot bed with regular and extended cabs, and a five-foot bed on crew cabs. A properly equipped colorado is rated to tow 4,000 pounds, enough for transporting atvs, dirt bikes, personal watercraft, bass boats, and small camping trailers. Regular and extended cabs come with a six-foot bed. The z71 off-road suspension is also available with 2wd and 4wd. Also new for 2007, the 3. 7-liter, 242-hp inline-5 is optional 1,000) on those models and standard on crew cabs with zq8, z71, and/or 4wd. The automatic is now standard in all crew cabs and with some up-level trims. the base-trim model is a commercial-grade work truck (w/t), offered as a regular cab 2wd 13,910), extended cab 2wd 16,310), regular cab 4wd 17,310) and extended cab 4wd 19,510). To that the 2lt package adds bucket seats; power windows, mirrors and locks with remote keyless entry; deep-tinted glass; and a self-dimming rearview mirror. Package 3lt includes all 2lt equipment plus additional upgrades like carpeted floor mats, a sliding rear cab window, and fog lamps. the z71 off-road suspension requires a minimum of lt trim, and adds an automatic-locking rear differential, p265/75r15 on/off-road tires, and a smoke gray grille and wheel flares. Ground clearance at the rear differential is 8. 4 inches. The zq8 rides lower than base models, with a slight forward rake, and comes with p235/50r18 tires on 18-by-8-inch aluminum wheels. A monochromatic paint scheme and fog lamps add visual distinction. colorado xtreme drops the zq8 suspension down another 1. 6 inches and mounts gas-charged shocks and stiffer anti-roll bars. A unique grille, tailgate spoiler, and side-sill extensions add exclusivity to xtreme's appearance, along with monochromatic paint schemes limited to red, black, white, blue, or yellow. power windows, locks and mirrors are optional 500) on lt; so are xm satellite radio 199), gen 6 onstar 695), a six-cd changer 395). A sunroof 695) is offered on crew cabs. A sun and sound package 795) for lt crew cabs bundles the sunroof with a six-disc in-dash cd changer. Crew cabs offer leather seating surfaces 1,495). Other options and accessories are available as well. safety features include dual-stage front airbags and front seatbelt pre-tensioners. Curtain-style side-impact airbags designed for head protection are optional 395) on all models. A tire pressure monitor, also standard on all models, is. walkaroundthe 2007 chevy colorado looks very much the same as it did in '06. There have been some changes on the paint chart, and ls and lt models now wear identifying badges. The popular 15-inch cast-alloy wheels are now offered in chrome as well as natural-look aluminum. colorado looks like a downsized and slightly picasso-ized rendition of the full-size silverado, beginning with its bold chrome horizontal-bar grille and multi-lens headlamps. On models so equipped, fog lamps are inset into the bumper. overall, the colorado has a clean, modern look. The fender bulges are angular and aggressive, more so than silverado's. The leading edge of the front fender flares isn't finished elegantly, however. Reach-through door handles allow a full handful of grip for easy opening, even with gloves. the crew cab looks well balanced despite the extra cab length. Cargo boxes are 6-foot, 1-inch on regular and extended cab models and 5-foot, 1-inch on crew cabs. A two-position locking tailgate, which opens to 55 degrees or to fully horizontal, provides more cargo utility. When the tailgate is partway down, the colorado can carry a 4-by-8 foot sheet of plywood flat, supported by the wheel wells and the rear edge of the tailgate. ride height varies by suspension grade and has a dramatic effect on the truck's appearance. The zq8 sport models look slammed with their lower ride height; although with 18-inch wheels for '07, their minimum ground clearance is just about an inch less than that of the standard 2wd colorado. The standard colorado has about 7. 4 inches of ground clearance with 2wd and 7. 7 inches with 4wd, varying slightly with cab style. The z71 off-road suspension raises the ground clearance to around 8. 8 inches, with 2wd or 4wd. all crew cab and extended cab models ride on a 126-inch wheelbase, while regular cab models ride on a 111-inch wheelbase. Overall length is 207 inches for all but regular cabs, which are 192 inches long. Overall height is about 65 inches for the standard z85 suspension, 68 inches with 4wd. chevy truck dealers offer a range of accessories, including a bed extender, hard and soft tonneau covers, tubular assist steps and splash guards. The center stack and hvac trim are now painted silver, and cloth has been added to the door insert padding. otherwise, however, colorado's interior is swathed in hard plastic that's not finger friendly but should prove to be durable, important in a working truck. Inside door releases feel solid and sturdy, but have the same hard feel. The center console has cup holders that look capable of handling a variety of drink containers.

2008 honda odyssey review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Well designed, enjoyable to drive. introductionthe honda odyssey might be the best minivan on the market. It's one of the most enjoyable to drive and lives up to honda's reputation for refinement, convenience, and great fit and finish. Its flexible seating system can accommodate up to eight passengers and it has plenty of room. In short, it's a good choice for families. all odyssey models are powered by a 3. 5-liter v6 engine with a five-speed automatic transmission, and it's a good powertrain. The base lx starts at about $26,000 and includes most of the features that make family travel easier. On the outside, the front grille and front fascia get a new look closer to that of the new honda accord. Under the hood, honda's variable cylinder management (vcm) system is updated. The last version used only six or three cylinders. Also for 2008, the odyssey gets an audio auxiliary input jack and a cd player that can play mp3 or wma files. All are powered by a 3. 5-liter v6 with variable valve timing. In lx and ex, the engine makes 244 horsepower at 5750 rpm and 240 pound-feet of torque at 5000 rpm. Both versions of the engine are equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission. the lx 25,860) comes with cloth upholstery, seating for seven with second-row caption's chairs and a 60/40 split fold-down rear seats. It has a slightly stiffer suspension for improved handling and a 350-watt audio system with six-disc cd changer, seven speakers and a subwoofer. It also gets the navigation system, front and rear park assist, a power tailgate, memory for the driver's seat and mirrors, power-adjustable pedals, 17 cupholders, outside mirror tilt-down backup aid, bluetooth wireless cell phone link, trip computer, compass and outside temperature display, automatic headlights, fog lights, the dvd rear-seat entertainment system, and p235/60r17 tires. A rearview camera, run-flat tires, and front and rear park assist are also available. walkaroundthe honda odyssey cuts a curvy profile, and its updated front end looks similar to the accord sedan. Large headlights flank its big grille, which is slightly more angular for 2008. The hood is sculpted with curves that lead naturally back to the windshield and emphasize the big fender flares. Honda has not hidden the sliding door channels at the base of the window but left them partially obscured by a crease that runs the length of the vehicle. all models come with two sliding doors, manually operated on the lx and electrically operated on all other models. The power windows in each of the side doors can be opened in the same fashion as in a car. We found the power doors seemed a bit reluctant to operate at times and were less responsive to key fob commands than were the sliding doors on the toyota sienna. the odyssey boasts honda's advanced compatibility engineering (ace) body structure. The vehicle's crush zones have been engineered to provide good protection for occupants while minimizing damage in a collision with smaller vehicles and pedestrians. Its body structure is rigid, which contributes to crisp handling and a smooth ride. A low drag coefficient helps improve fuel economy and high-speed stability. interiorinside, the odyssey is both comfortable and convenient. It feels downright luxurious when ordered with leather trim. The soft materials look good and the metallic-colored trim that runs across the center of the dash is attractive. up front, the driver's seat is designed to hold the driver firmly and is positioned in a car-like setting. The shift lever is mounted on the dashboard, and while it looks odd at first, it's easier to use than a column-mounted shifter. A handy drink tray is provided between the front seats, and it can be folded down to allow walkthrough access to the second row. There is no center console. Two glove boxes are provided, which are more awkward for storage than one big one. the second-row bucket seats are roomy and comfortable. the third-row seat splits 60/40 and folds easily into the well provided for it, and the headrests do not need to be removed before folding. cubby storage includes a useful storage area hidden under the middle of the floor, accessible from both the front and middle-row seats. Originally designed to house the spare tire, honda engineers moved the spare tire to a location in the rear. Instead of removing the round space under the floor where the spare used to reside, they've turned it into a hidden storage compartment with a rotating compartmentalized bin, like a lazy susan. A small panel in the floor between the two front seats lets front passengers access the bin while and another panel is provided in front of the second-row seats. Front and middle-row passengers can turn the lazy susan and access whatever is stored inside. eight people can fit in the odyssey with the available plusone seat that fits between the two captain's chairs in the second row. If it's not needed as a seat, it can be turned into a table or stowed in the floor in place of the lazy susan bin. If the plusone seat is not being used, the right-hand seat can be slid across to allow easier access to the third-row seats. This flexibility makes the odyssey a versatile people hauler. for cargo, the third-row seats fold (a fairly easy task) and the second row can be removed (not so easy) to offer 147. 4 cubic feet of cargo space, more than most minivans and any suv. the navigation system is one of the easiest to operate using its on-screen menus and includes zagat restaurant data. The large eight-inch monitor is positioned high on the dashboard for easy viewing. The system also responds to voice commands, and we found it responds effectively. It's capable of responding to more than 600 voice commands and is smart enough to understand different accents and find locations without any need for input other than by voice. Apart from navigation, the system can be used to operate the radio and climate controls. the rearview camera makes parallel parking easier and also functions as a safety feature: by displaying what's behind the car on the navigation screen, it can show the driver unseen hazards such as a small child possibly preventing a tragic accident. We find rearview cameras very useful in crowded shopping center parking lots where people are walking behind the car after we've shifted into reverse. the dvd entertainment system features a large nine-inch widescreen displ.

2003 toyota tacoma review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Toyota tacoma boasts a heritage of solid service as a work truck along with a hard-earned reputation as a winning off-road race truck. toyota makes a tacoma to fit almost any work-related or recreational pursuit. The tacoma line starts with a simple two-wheel-drive work truck loaded with nothing but quality, durability and reliability. The price and content of the sr5 package varies with cab, engine, and driveline. V6 double cabs and v6 xtracab 4x4s can be ordered with a similar limited package, which includes most sr5 content plus power windows, locks and mirrors. Again the precise content depends on the body style. a stepside bed option 310) features bulging rear fenders and a small step behind the doors (not available on double cabs). prerunner is a 4x2 truck with an off-road suspension. Prerunners are available in standard, xtracab, or double cab configurations, and with either the 2. 7-liter inline-4 or 3. 4-liter v6. Prerunners start at $14,015. xtracab s-runner is a low-riding street sports model with a suspension tuned for handling on pavement. S-runner comes with the 3. 4-liter v6, five-speed transmission, sport seats, and color-keyed trim. the trd (toyota racing development) off-road package can be added to 2wd prerunner or 4wd xtracab models. The trd package adds bilstein shocks, a locking rear differential, increased-rate front and rear springs, a larger stabilizer bar, p265/70r16 b. Goodrich tires, overfenders (color-keyed on limited models), and special graphics. also available from trd is a fully warranted, dealer-installed supercharger for the 3. 4-liter v6. The limited and the s-runner each had the 3. 4-liter v6 and xtracab body style. But that's where the similarities ended. the 4x4 limited has a tough, off-road look to it, with big, beefy tires and enough ground clearance to hop over medium-sized rocks and stumps. The s-runner is much lower to the ground, and is graced with bodywork add-ons that go well with its handsome five-spoke alloy wheels and low-profile tires. The xtracab has a little more legroom (42. 8 inches versus 41. 7), plus room to recline the seat. standard in xtracabs is a 60/40 split bench front seat, comfortable for driver and passenger. The bucket seats in the xtracab limited we test-drove felt too big for the cab, giving the space a cramped feeling. But they sure were comfortable, and that lumbar support in the driver's seat was a godsend on a long drive. The cloth trim seems to be of good quality. In the extended rear cab area there's a little table that folds up to serve as either a cup holder or as a support for a child-restraint seat. double cabs are reasonably roomy in the back-seat area. There's lots of knee room and good headroom, but the upright seatback makes the space most suitable for short trips. White-faced gauges are available on some models. Controls well placed and functional. An assist strap is provided on the driver's-side windshield pillar. The tacoma has a pull-out hand brake, which is inconvenient and seems old-fashioned. They drive quite a bit differently, but all do a good job in the roles for which they are designed. the two-wheel-drive work truck rides smoothly and handles reasonably well. Off-road versions offer impressive handling and capability in the rough stuff. The toyota 2. 4-liter is economical to run, with an epa-estimated city/highway mileage of 22/25 mpg when matched with a five-speed manual transmission. It delivers 190 horsepower at 4800 rpm, with 220 pounds-feet of torque at 3600 rpm. Even at that it's still reasonably economical, with an epa city/highway mileage rating of 18/22 for a 4x2 with a five-speed manual. the five-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and makes the tacoma more fun to drive. The tacoma feels like it would go anywhere, and get there in a big hurry. The trd suspension is fantastic, whether going slow or hauling. Even deep, bounding ruts failed to upset the handling in medium-speed corners. The trd tacoma rides reasonably well, though it's stiff at low speeds. That stiffness pays off at higher speeds, however. Like all pickups, it feels much smoother with a little weight in the bed. That's a convenience when a good road goes bad. The available push-button locking differential forces the rear wheels to turn at the same speed. This enables the tacoma to walk out of ankle-deep sand with absolutely no trouble. The locking rear differential is indispensable for driving in an area prone to mud and snow. on dry pavement, the tacoma 4x4 holds corners surprisingly well. Its 190-horsepower 3. 4-liter v6 produces a deep-sounding (but not obnoxious) exhaust note. The sport-tuned suspension setup includes tokico gas shock absorbers, increased-rate springs, and front and rear stabilizer bars. Ride height is reduced by one inch from the standard 4x2. Though a little jouncy when empty, the ride never felt harsh, and handling was superb. As long as the weather doesn't get too slippery, the s-runner is as entertaining as anything we've recently driven. It is so much fun that we kept searching for reasons to go for a spin. we used an s-runner to move some furniture from maryland to virginia and, like all pickups, it rode better when loaded down. Overall, the tacoma is an impressive package. there are bigger trucks and there are more powerful trucks than the tacoma. But there are few 4x4 pickups that offer th.
